FAQs

What is Pilates?

Pilates is an innovative and safe method of exercise evolved from the principles of Joseph Pilates using the Reformer, Mat or Barre offering a variety of pilates apparatus. Pilates is a safe, non impact exercise system that will help strengthen and isolate the muscles surrounding your joints. Pilates teaches body awareness, good posture and graceful movement. Pilates improves core strength, flexibility, agility and helps alleviate back pain. With regular practice Pilates can dramatically transform the way your body looks, feels and performs.

I’m a beginner where should I start?

If your new to Reformer begin with Reformer Essentials to learn the basics and focus on your body positioning and form. Reformer is very assisted and supportive on the carriage. Please arrive 10 mins early prior to starting your first session so we run through the orientation of the reformer with you.

Please ensure you select SMS for reminders and schedule changes on your mindbody account. It is important to keep track of your bookings, if you are on the waitlist, we will SMS or email you if a space becomes available.

No shows & Cancellations

Being fair and kind to everyone we have a strictly 12 hour Cancellation Policy through the MindBody App. To ensure your cancellation is received and the next client waiting in line can be offed a spot immediately, we only accept cancellations via the MINDBODY app.

‘No show’ or late cancel is loss of business for us and therefore a class pass will be charged to you for the session. Please respect our policies to avoid losing a class pass and be fair to all clients waitlisted.

I have/had an injury, condition, pain that could impact my class

Our classes have been designed for a group workout and not for an injury rehabilitation. Always advise your instructor of any injury or pain you have that should be considered for your workout. We recommend that you make contact with the studio prior to attending your first class to discuss any injury or condition to ensure the class will be suitable for you and we can plan modifications accordingly. In some circumstances your injury may exceed the expertise of our instructors and we will recommend you see your health professional for further advice on your rehabilitation goals.

How many sessions per week should I attend?

We encourage you to balance your exercise routine with work, rest, and leisure for your health and well-being. We generally recommend 2-4 pilates sessions per week, depending on your own fitness goals.

Pregnancies

Please contact us directly for attendance during pregnancy. If you are new to Pilates, we recommend private pregnancy classes. For current clients, you may attend group classes until end of 1st trimester. Moving forward, due to your safety being our first priority, we offer private customised pregnancy sessions.

Please advise us if you need to place your class pass on hold and we will extend your expiry date for when you are ready to return.
